What is the Hamann Park CERT and how it will help us in times of emergency? In the above video, we talk to two of the leaders of Hamann Park CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and learn what CERT does, how you can get involved and how it complements the block-by-block reinvigoration of the Hamann Park Neighborhood Association. One of the key take-aways is that virtually anyone can help, regardless of ability as the most important thing to meeting both CERT and HPNA is neighbor-to-neighbor communications.

COVAD-19 Updates (Santa Clara County Public Health)

We Want You - To Be a Block Captain

To create a stronger neighborhood to better survive events like COVID-19, we are looking for block captains. What we are looking for is at least one household on each block to help organize our neighborhood on a block-by-block basis.

To learn more about what being a Block Captain entails, go to:

Hamann Park Mural Unveiling

Stay Tuned for the Official Unveiling

The above mural concept was approved by the City of San Jose Public Arts Commission, allowing Hamann Park to move forward with fundraising by working with the San Jose Parks Foundation and commissioning the artist.

Lila Gemellos is the artist and she suggests a community effort to paint the mural (think different school age groups painting and taking ownership of this colorful display).  Lila has previous experience working with the City of San Jose and she is familiar with the procedures required.

Contact hpna@hamannpark.com, with any questions and please pass along this note to friends, neighbors and businesses who might be interested in helping promote and/or, fund this effort.
